In January 2006 I went to my very first quilt show: Road to California (Ontario, CA). This was my birthday present to me. I took a one-day class, Kimono wall hanging, from Miyako Kobayashi. (you can see the sample on her website). It was simply AMAZING! I went from zero ability in hand applique (you could see the stitches from 3 feet away) to stitches I can’t see even with my glasses on! If you ever have the opportunity to take a class from Miyako do not pass it up. She travels to the US several times a year, I believe.
