Road to California is coming to Ontario January 15-18, 2009 and my guild’s new opportunity quilt, Dresden Rose will be on display there. If you’re going to Road, be sure to look for it, this is one quilt you have to see in person. It knocked everyone’s socks off when it was unveiled at our last meeting. The background is wool with the Dresden appliqués in batik, embellished by machine embroidery and gorgeous quilting.

Gorgeous quilt Julie- it is such a lovely pattern – the colors are so rich and an interesting way to use a traditional design.

I thought you might be interested in seeing my texture quilt that I made for my mother in law who has Alzheimer’s. I appreciated your instructions. I used a variety of fabrics and fused them all to a foundation. I did not put batting in it as I used a fleece fabric for the back. I am still trying to figure out what I want to use to bind it but I think I will probably use cotton that is 2 1/2 inches wide. I will finish it and send it off to her soon. We hope that she will get some enjoyment from the quilt. You can see it here: http://quiltmomsjourney.blogspot.com/
    Thanks again for the idea.
    Regards,
