I have two wips to share today:
1. March 12x12x12 is coming along. As you can see I’ve added hot fix crystals and the borders, as well as started some hand quilting (with silk pearl floss). I was only planning on having the green border, but it had an unfortunately small and obvious repeat, so I added the yellow check, which I like WAY better than with only the green. They are joined in an interesting way because I didn’t want to piece them. The pieces are butted against each other and fused to the center panel and the batting (you can see the zig zag stitches where they meet). After I add the binding, then I will cover the zig zag with a single or double row of beads.
2. Annika’s Magic of the Rainbow: My six-year old DD is making an art quilt. She drew and painted the picture with Tsukineko All Purpose Inks and stitched the borders on the first two sides. Now she’s waiting for Mama to prewash the fabric for the cornerstone squares.
As you can tell, both of us got quite a bit of quilting done this weekend!
